Jordan Black is a comedy writer, performer, & producer originally from Dallas, Texas & currently based in Chicago, Illinois.
Jordan’s career began as a Stand-up back in 2012 at the age of 16, performing at school variety shows & whatever bar open mics his parents could drive him to…
Jordan was a staple in the DFW comedy scene for nearly a decade, performing at every mic in town, & working as an MC for Hyenas comedy clubs.
In 2021, Jordan would pack up his wife, child & associate’s degree in Video Tech, and drag them across the country to Chicago to study at the world renowned Second City Conservatory for Sketch & Improv comedy.
During his studies at Second City, Jordan would launch his ambitious bi-weekly sketch comedy web-series Jordan Black: SKETCH Symbol, where he would cut his teeth in indie film production.
After a decade in stand-up comedy, Jordan chose to move on to focus his creative efforts on filmmaking & TV writing.
As Jordan got more serious about TV writing, he decided to develop a fun concept that had been rattling his brain for a few years; A medieval dark-comedy with a modern, British tone - Siege The Day! Which would evolve into a fully animated short!
Following his graduation from the Second City’s 2-year conservatory program, as well as the wrap of Season 2 of Sketch Symbol, Jordan would embark on his next creative venture; An animated, apocalyptic father-son dark comedy - Dooms-Dad.
Now you’re all caught up!
Jordan is currently looking for work as a film editor & is seeking literary representation as a TV writer.
